Charlottesville, VA, April 16, 2019 — Frontier Co-op is the latest company to join the quickly growing How2Recycle® Label program. Frontier Co-op offers a full line of products for natural living under the Frontier Co-op, Simply Organic, and Aura Cacia brands.
By using the How2Recycle® label on packaging, Frontier Co-op will be making recycling much easier for consumers by taking the guesswork out of the process. The How2Recycle label not only helps consumers figure out if packaging can be put in the recycling bin, but tells the consumer about any special steps that they should take to prepare the package for recycling, such as removing the pump before recycling the sprayer bottle.
“Recycling isn’t always clear, and can often be confusing,” said Caroline Cox, Project Manager, How2Recycle. “We’re so excited to welcome Frontier Co-op as the most recent company to feature accurate and consistent on packaging recycling instructions for their consumers. By using the How2Recycle label, Frontier Co-op is helping us all recycle more and better.”
Customers will first see the How2Recycle label on Frontier Co-Op’s line of bulk spices later this year.
“We know that environmental sustainability, social responsibility and integrity are important to our member-owners and our consumers, and we try to advance these values with every decision that we make,” said Frontier Co-op Sustainability Manager Alicia Simmons. “By joining How2Recycle, our aim is to effectively provide consumers with the information necessary to dispose of our product packaging in the appropriate waste streams.”
How2Recycle is also unique in that it provides a customized recyclability assessment for each package, and there are thousands of different How2Recycle labels on the market to help address the varied types of packaging in the market today. With each label assigned, How2Recycle provides the member company with insight into how they can improve the recyclability of the package.
